Ralph D Polson
Ralph Polson just completed his 4th season as head men's coach at Wofford College. In 2009, the Wofford Terriers won the Southern Conference Regular season championship and SoCon Tournament Championship, earning a berth in the NCAA Men's Div I National Tournament. During the 2008 season Polson reached a coaching milestone, winning his 200th career game as a college head coach. Prior to taking over at Wofford in February of 2008, he spent eight years as the Associate Head Coach at the College of Charleston. He helped lead the Cougars to the Southern Conference Championship and a bid to the NCAA Men's College Cup in 2004. He served as the head coach at Presbyterian College for 17 years prior to his arrival at CofC in 2000. He was the winningest coach in the history of the South Atlantic Conference, winning four conference championships and participating in the NCAA Division II National Tournament.
Coach Polson is a former Director of Coaching for the SCYSA Boys State Select Team Program and a member of the USYSA Region III Olympic Development Program coaching staff. He holds a USSF "A" license. He has been a member of the RLSA staff since 1977. He currently serves as Vice-President of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. |
